Personally, being a member of the church made my life wonderful and more meaningful. There is no source here on this world that answered my question as to where I am going to go when I die and what will happen when I die as the church did. Only the church has given me wisdom to almost all the vital questions of life. Because of the teachings of the church, I was able to know myself. For this, I am ever grateful to the greatness of His work.
As for my family, because of the truth that we have gained, my brother is not a drunkard. My father has a healthy life. My mom has something worthwhile to do every week. My sister is respected by his boyfriend. My other sister enjoys the love of a committed family man. Our oldest sister is enjoying his marriage. These fruits of the truth that we’ve learned in the church are indeed true evidences that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the only true church of God upon the face of the whole earth today; In the name of our Saviour and Redeemer, even Jesus Christ; Amen.
By gaining a knowledge of who we are and what our divine potential can be has blessed our family in seeing the good in others and being an example in that we try to “Live in such a way that those who know you, but don’t know God will come to know God because they know you.” Being a me of the Church of Jesus Christ and Latter-day Saints has shown me who I am and what I can become. It has brought me to a strong relationship with those I meet and with my Savior. Our family is able to see and love others through God’s eyes and not the world’s. Not always, but most of the time.

Where would we ever be without the blessings of the restored Gospel in our lives? I cannot imagine. As a single parent in a family church, my son has had male mentors he would never have had otherwise. My son has grown up with the values of integrity, honor, and service, and knowing who he is as a child of a loving heavenly Father. I have never lacked for wisdom from not just the scriptures, but from individuals who have lived gospel principles, who have been tried by the world and have endured, overcome, and flourished. The closer I have aligned with the principles of the Gospel, the better my daily life has become, the richer my relationships and opportunities to serve have become, the deeper my blessings have become. In a world where everyone seeks comfort, peace, and hope, you can find them. In a world focused on the here and now, you can gain an eternal perspective on all things and find meaning in most things (some things we just still do not understand, but we will). Having the Gospel restored in these Latter-Days means that we have a direct connection with God through our prophet and we have amazing opportunities to connect with brothers and sisters worldwide. We share a bond on earth that is meant for heaven. Ultimately, we learn to choose good and we receive the blessings of that path. We also learn how to repent and seek forgiveness, and how to love and forgive others. We learn of Christ’s great sacrifice on our behalf and of his empathy for us, of his desire to bring healing and hope to our lives. We come to understand the ties between generations.
Those are all the spiritual things. Temporally, there are huge benefits too. Imagine becoming comfortable speaking in public. Imagine moving across the country or the world and finding that you have a community there that you already belong to. Imagine the opportunity to learn each week, to find support in your efforts to be more Christ-like in your daily life and in raising your children that way. Imagine being an important part of Christ’s mission, of bringing change into the lives of others. Imagine being part of worldwide humanitarian efforts. Imagine learning about and knowing your individual worth as a son or daughter of God.
When I see despair in the world, I know that there is hope, there are answers, there are solutions for those willing to make new choices, for those willing to take the step that will change their lives.
Imagine walking among strangers and knowing that you can love them because your Father in Heaven does.
Imagine seeing your life from an eternal perspective.
Imagine the love you can have for your children knowing they were entrusted into your care. Imagine the love you can have for other children who have not had that care.
Imagine knowing that we are just here to learn.
Imagine hymns that provide you with strength and understanding and courage.
Know what, you really cannot imagine it all until you experience it!

Often times in a family setting the most difficult problem that arises in troubling situations is determining how to resolve the issue at hand. It could be sibling rivalry, economic hardship, a death in the family, or any myriad of problems; however, with the gospel in my family we were provided with a common perspective when dealing with such trials. When argument, anxiety or discord reached its most heated point, we could stop ourselves, reflect on what the gospel teaches us, forgive one another and honestly ask: “What would Jesus do?” First, he would remind us that he loves us all, then he would have us pray and fast together, and he would tell us in our hearts what was the righ thing for us to do. Essentially, the gospel provides a medium through which conflict and trouble can be resolved by love and selflessness. The family then, is a setting in which we can see how the Atonement really works, the Atonement is the gospel, it is the good news, and it is the medium of love and selflessness which is designed to help our families.

A huge blessing in the church comes from Family Home Evening, where the entire family gets a chance to share lessons, thoughts, testimonies, and be together for an entire evening every week. This evening together with my family has brought us so much closer together, and makes us love being around each other.
In addition, the church encourages family prayer, family scripture study, and other sacred activities that bring my family close. When we are together during these reverant times, it becomes impossible for contention or hate to enter our home. We are all more calm, we love and respect one another, and our testimonies of Jesus Christ and eternal families are strengthened. I am so grateful for the knowledge I have that I can be with my family forever. If I did not know about the true and living church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I would not have this knowledge.
In times of trouble it is great blessing to have so many brothers and sisters who can help to our family. I know that if I need help our elders and sisters will be near to help.

I am so blessed to be a member and to have the knowledge I do. Although I do not have a father and my sister is inactive I am still holding on to the faith that I have in knowing that all is well. I know that by living righteous and being a example for my family God can work through me to help them. I have had many trials that have made me a better person. Everything that I have gone through has increased my testimony and my love for my family. Even though I don’t have the comfort of being sealed to my mom and sister, I look forward to being sealed to a worthy man who holds the priesthood and respects me.
